Inclusive Business with small milk producers: Working in the Ecuadorian provinces of Carchi and Imbabura, SNV's Inclusive Business (IB) project improves small milk producers' productions levels, income and living conditions by inserting them into dairy enterprise Floralp's value chain. The IB informs small producers about the company, provides a training programme and technology transfer for small producers, local actors and associations.
Within three years, this project will professionalise the operations of small milk producers and generate business management capacities, under a quality assurance and financial sustainability scheme.
SNV political advocacy: This SNV project exerts influence on the GORESAM political and technical authorities to implement public policies that promote favourable conditions for Inclusive Business (IB) in the region of San Martin, Peru.
A set of activities influencing the development of public policies – promoted by SNV and finances by IDB-MIF since 2007 – has been developed, benefiting low-income and base-of-the-pyramid communities by expanding and diversifying the scope and impact of IB.
GORESAM has accepted this model and agreed to carry out transversal activities and implement public policies within its budget to achieve improved inclusive economic development.
Sustainable development of biofuels value chain: In El Progreso and Yoro, Honduras, SNV and WWF Honduras work alongside African palm-oil producer Palmas Aceiteras de Honduras (HONDUPALMA) to create jobs and income opportunities based on sustainable resources, efficient production and climate change mitigation for the 30 cooperatives and firms operating in the Honduran biofuels sector. HONDUPALMA has been lauded as a best practice example to various entrepreneurs interested in duplicating this strategy around the region.
