Jhonn Gómez Méndez

Jhonn Gómez, currently Advisor in Governance for SNV-Bolivia, is a Bolivian government official who has 16 years of professional experience in rural development, planning, poverty reduction policies, sustainable development, conservation and public policymaking. He has been on the Provincial Council of Manabí in Ecuador; consultant for the Development Plan of the European Commission/Medicus Mundi Programme; consultant for the Constituent Assembly; Development Project Coordinator of the Ministry of Sustainable Development; National Director of the Protected Areas System of Bolivia; GTZ-MAPZA-PADEP consultant for social monitoring and public services; Planning Director for UNICEF-Ministry of Indigenous Affairs; consultant for indigenous issues in the Bolivian Poverty Reduction Strategy; national consultant for UNICEF; and advisor in people’s planning for the Regional Corporation for the Development of Chuquisaca. He holds a diploma in local management and integral development from the Simón Bolívar Andean University, with a specialization in development planning from the Israel Regional Studies Center. He is co-author of “Strategic Management Agenda for the National Protected Areas System of Bolivia, Ministry of Sustainable Development” and “Constituent Assembly Proposal for the Region of Chaco Chuquisaqueño.”

Blanca Guzmán, Secretary of the Institutional Capacity Building Program for Prefecture Management for SNV-Bolivia, is a Bolivian national, with experience in secretarial activities, managerial assistance and development cooperation translation. She was assistant to the manager of SNV-Bolivia, writer for the Binders on Information about Children, and secretary for the Programs of Christian Children’s Fund, a U.S. NGO, external translator for CCF Bolivia, and translator authorized by the U.S. Consulate. She holds a BA in linguistics and languages from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, La Paz, Bolivia, as well as a diploma in managerial support services from, IBEE, UCB, La Paz, Bolivia. She has attended a course specializing in managerial assistance and has written “Useful Translation Model for Correspondence in the Sponsorship System in International Cooperation.”
